Get Started With Periscope

My favorite social media network is Twitter. I love the immediacy of Twitter. It has so many uses, from breaking news to customer service. This article is about a fairly new app called Periscope by Twitter that was launched in March of 2015. Periscope is a live streaming video mobile app that allows replays, highlights and more, it was originally launched for Apple Iphones and received the App of the Year award in 2015.

The big news is that in addition to the iPhone and Android platforms already supported, Periscope now has apps for Ipad, Ipod and Imessage. Plus, in an announcement this week, Twitter introduced Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Xbox One Apps for Live Streaming Video with Periscope and Vine. This is huge! According to the article, the Apple TV app will be available globally while the app for Xbox One will be available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States and Twitter for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick are now available in the United States and the United Kingdom.

In July Persicope added more features that help user engagement on Twitter including “web embeds” that allow embedding Periscope video on any web page. A broadcast is embedded with Tweet Embeds and Embedded Timelines, and a broadcaster profile is embedded with the On Air Button, another great feature of Periscope. Does this sound complicated? It really isn’t any more difficult than embedding a tweet.

and it couldn’t be more simple to make an “on air” button. Click here and take a look, you fill in one field, choose the size and press the button.
